Two of the region’s most established architectural firms, MCF Architecture and McKinley Architecture + Engineering, are joining forces in a merger that combines more than 215 years of expertise in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
MCF Architecture, ranked among the top 10 largest firms in the region, is merging with Wheeling-based McKinley Architecture + Engineering, which holds a strong presence in both states. The newly combined firm will have close to 100 employees, expanding its reach and capabilities across multiple industries.
With a legacy spanning eight generations, MCF Architecture has been a leader in full-service architectural design, specializing in healthcare, higher education, performing arts, civic projects, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and commercial development. The firm has played a significant role in shaping the built environment of Western Pennsylvania for over 135 years.
McKinley Architecture + Engineering brings a strong portfolio in Pre K-12 education, sports and entertainment facilities, engineering services, and historic rehabilitation. With five offices, including four in West Virginia and one in Mars, Pennsylvania, the firm has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality projects.
By merging their expertise, both firms aim to enhance service offerings and expand their footprint in key sectors, including healthcare and higher education in West Virginia. The merger will allow for greater innovation, improved resources, and an elevated level of service for clients, partners, and communities throughout the region.
This strategic partnership marks a new chapter in architectural excellence, ensuring continued impact on the evolving landscapes of Pennsylvania and West Virginia for generations to come.
