January is National Hobby Month, the perfect time to explore new interests or deepen your passion for a favorite pastime.
At Bridgeport Public Library, we’re excited to help you dive into a wide variety of hobbies that can enhance your creativity, relaxation and personal growth. Whether you’re looking to pick up a new skill or spend time honing an old one, we’ve got something for everyone.
One of the highlights of our collection is our Hobby Kits, which are available for checkout for two weeks at a time. You can try your hand at baking, crochet, candle making, woodcarving, calligraphy and even pickleball.
Each kit contains all the necessary materials and instructions to get you started, so you can explore these activities in the comfort of your home. Whether you’re crafting a new piece of art or learning how to serve in pickleball, our kits make it easy to try something new without a big investment in supplies.
In addition to our Hobby Kits, we also offer a diverse selection of books to guide you on your hobby journey.
From beginner’s guides to advanced techniques, our library is stocked with books on various subjects, such as basic knitting, the science of fermentation and the history of woodworking, to name a few.
Our library catalog is full of great resources to help you learn and expand your knowledge in any hobby you choose. You can browse our catalog at bplwv.org.
National Hobby Month is the ideal time to discover something new that sparks joy in your life. Visit the Bridgeport Public Library to borrow a Hobby Kit, check out a book or simply get inspired by the possibilities. With a little creativity and the right resources, you can transform January into a month of personal enrichment and fun.
