PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia high school athletics supervisors have issued a warning to all administrators, coaches and players: No player celebrations can include pistol (or gun) gestures or bow and arrow actions, according to a social media post.

“We have issued a memo to all basketball officials to appropriately address this behavior. These actions should result in a technical foul moving forward for unsportsmanlike behavior. It is taunting and leads to additional problems within the game,” WVSSAC Associate Executive Director Wayne Ryan wrote in a memo to administrators, coaches and officials.
