CENTENARY, Ohio (WV News) — The Lady Dragons blazed on through.
The Gallia Academy girls basketball team was defeated at home 57-31 to the Fairland Lady Dragons Friday evening in a Ohio Valley Conference meeting.
These two teams played each other once before this season, with Fairland winning 84-52.

Game summary
The Lady Dragons got off to a hot start, jumping ahead to a 7-0 lead.
The Blue Angels focused on offense, getting a couple baskets before Fairland extended their lead.
The visitors did well in getting second chances, powering their way in for offensive rebounds.
The Blue and White had some costly turnovers work against them, leading to more points for the road team.
The Blue Angels scored a three-pointer to open the second quarter, but a pair of turnover got the Lady Dragons four points of their own.
The Green and White’s pressing defense gave the home team its fair share of problems, creating more turnovers.
They also had some difficulty getting into the paint.
Another area the Fairland girls shined in were three’s, getting five in the first half.
The Lady Dragons got five more points in the final minute to go into halftime with a 39-13 advantage.
The Lady Dragons continued to rack up the offensive boards in the third quarter, keeping the ball in their hands.
The Blue Angels were using quick passes to find their way into the paint, but they continued to have problems with getting the ball through the net.
The Gallia defense stood tall in the last three minutes of the third, keeping their opponents to one basket in that stretch and getting four of their own.
However, they still faced a deep deficit going into the fourth.
Friday’s ballgame entered a running clock in the fourth quarter, leaving the home team with little room to climb back up the scoreboard.
However, the Blue Angels didn’t quit, getting a few more buckets and outscoring their opponents 12-7.
