Kerr, who has worked for the city since 2012, will oversee public messaging, media relations, social media, branding, and community outreach. She previously served as city clerk before becoming director of Community & Economic Development in 2018.
“I am very excited to have been given this opportunity and continue to serve the city I love,” Kerr said. “We have so much to be proud of as a community, and I hope to expand and push our messaging across the state and beyond.”
In his new role, Griffith will manage plan review, project oversight, GIS mapping, code enforcement, permitting, and bidding projects. He joined the city in 2020 as an engineering associate I and was promoted to engineering associate II in 2022.
“I am extremely honored and grateful to be given the opportunity to move into this new position,” Griffith said. “I look forward to my continuation of service to this community, and I am very excited for the future of the city’s development services.”
Drummond, who started as a systems administrator in 2022, became Interim IT director in late 2024 before accepting his permanent position in January. He will oversee the city’s IT operations and guide strategic technology initiatives.
“I’m very excited for this new role, but it’s certainly going to be a challenge,” Drummond said. “I hope to continue where [the previous IT director] left off, growing and modernizing the city’s technology resources so all departments can continue to provide excellent services.”
City Manager Pat Ford expressed confidence in the leadership team’s ability to strengthen city operations.
“These three individuals have a proven track record of success, and they understand the dynamics of our city,” Ford said. “I have great confidence in their ability to lead these departments.”
Mayor Andy Lang highlighted the importance of strong leadership in city departments.
“This is my eighth year as mayor of the City of Bridgeport. I have had the pleasure of working with all three of these individuals, and I am grateful for their commitment to serving this community,” Lang said. “They will excel and continue to drive positive change within our city.”
