Bobby Joe Searls, 66, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2025 after an extended illness.
He was born on October 17, 1958, in Huntington, WV, son of the late Dewey Searls and Mary Irene Searls.
Bob graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1977. He excelled in football and wrestling. Afterwards, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Local 132 for 20 years. He then worked at Old and New Sports, and retired from KS in 2006 due to health issues.
Bob was known for his huge heart and love for his large family. He was an avid gun collector and loved gunsmithing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Searls.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Irene Searls; and his wife of 43 years, Joy Searls; daughter, Bobbi (Luke) Patterson; and grandchildren, Cameron, Caden, and Callie Patterson; sisters, Connie (John) Kirk, and Debbie (Mac) McGill; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to Dr. Malik and Kanawha Hospice Care.
No funeral service is scheduled at this time. Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood is in charge of his arrangements.
