BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WV News) — Heather Cleary is the owner of Bridgeport Running. She shares some details and tips on what to expect leading up to the Cecil Jarvis Greater Clarksburg 10K, 2-Mile and Kids K on Saturday, June 17:
From runner to walker, our store is here to help you find exactly what you need. The reason we carry the products that we do is because we use them too! As Bridgeport’s only specialty running store, we are here to offer you the best shoes and gear to fit your running and walking needs.
Our enthusiastic and well-trained staff is available to assist you know matter the type of runner or walker you are. As a local business, we offer unmatched service and attention.
The best part? It doesn’t cost more! Sometimes “specialty stores” get equated with higher prices. This isn’t true at Bridgeport Running because we do not mark our prices up, and we even price match.
What makes us different?
When you come to Bridgeport Running for shoes, we offer a gait analysis on your feet and stride to find the best shoe for you!
Here is how it works:
• We will ask you to take off your shoes, so that we can look at your feet, both sitting and standing.
• After the static evaluation, we’ll want to get you moving and see you walk or run. You will have to option to walk or run on our treadmill or use our in-store track!
• At this time, we will be able to watch you walk and jog while explaining what we see going on with our gait. We’ll be looking to see if you have a neutral stride or over pronate slightly, moderately, or severely.
• That’s it! We will walk you over to the shoe wall and explain which types of shoes will fit your feet the best. We do try to accommodate brands that you are interested in trying!
The gait analysis is free with a purchase of a pair of shoes. No appointment is needed and any of our trained staff can assist you with an analysis. Customers are encouraged to bring their current shoes, orthotics, and a pair of socks!
We hope you can stop in for a visit and see why we are so highly recommended!
Join us for practice runs/walks on the course every Thursday starting at 6 p.m., May 18 through June 15. We will meet at the Clarksburg Fire Station. See you there!
