LOST CREEK, W.Va. (WV News) — Lost Creek Elementary, South Harrison Middle School and South Harrison High School dismissed early Friday due to a waterline break that affected the campus.
All three schools closed at 11:45 a.m. following lunch while crews from Greater Harrison Public Service District tended to the line break.
Water service should be restored by Monday for students to return to school, said Harrison County Superintendent Dora Stutler.
“I’m sure by Monday it’ll be fixed. They didn’t indicate it would be more just today,” she said.
No other schools were dismissed early in Harrison County as there have not been any issues with flooding, Stutler said.
