WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — The Lewis County Commission covered a light agenda during its regular meeting Tuesday, addressing infrastructure needs at the county park and receiving legal updates on ongoing matters.
Lewis County Park Director Josh Hinchman made a request to seek bids for an additional parking lot at the park, citing the loss of an existing lot near the golf course due to ongoing construction, necessitating the need for a new area.
Commissioners approved advertising for a design plan for the parking lot. Once a design is finalized and approved, they will consider moving forward with seeking bids for the project.
Attorney Gary Morris provided an update on legal matters involving the Safe Sites and Structures Committee litigation, as well as progress on title insurance.
“I was supposed to have what we call commitments for title insurance in my hand, but we don’t have them yet,” he said. “We have been working on them... You do have final title letters and we will get the title insurance and then I can advise you on that.”
Other items discussed included regular correspondence, which saw commissioners review the most recent agenda of the Upshur County Commission, as well as go over recent committee reports.
