Continuing a run of players from the Friendly City, WVU’s football program has received a commitment from Trevor Bigelow of Fairmont Senior High School, who joins the Class of 2025. Bigelow is the latest in a long line of commitments from Fairmont, including, most recently, Zach Frazier, Darius Stills and Dante Stills.
Bigelow committed to Mercyhurst on Dc. 19, but after a visit to WVU, switched gears to make the closer trek to the University City to play for his homestate school.
A 6-4, 265-pound lineman, Bigelow earned first team All-State honors as both an offensive and and defensive lineman over the past two seasons.
He’s quick off the ball and shows good speed for a player of his size, and excels at pulling and sliding down the line to either lead plays or combat them.
His position in college will largely depend on his ability to handle some extra weight to battle the bigger opponents he will face, and how much of his agility and speed he maintains.
Along with those attributes, his versatility stands out, as he was an accomplished performer on both sides of the ball, and showed the ability to play at both interior and defensive end spots at Fairmont Senior. His discipline on his pulls and in keeping balance while in pursuit also draws attention, and should provide a good base from which to begin his college career.
