WEIRTON, W.Va. — Officials from the West Virginia University Health System traveled to the Northern Panhandle today (Jan. 27) to officially welcome Weirton Medical Center (WMC) into the WVU Medicine family. WMC became a full member of the System on Jan. 1.

“New Year’s Day marked a new day for Weirton Medical Center, our patients, and our employees. The hospital has been abuzz with excitement and anticipation for this transition,” David Artman, WMC president and CEO, said. “We are proud to fly the WVU Medicine flag and look forward to all the benefits that come with being a member of a leading healthcare system.”
