WILLOW STREET, Pa. — Jeanne Henry Kammer Neff of Willow Street, Pa., died on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 at the age of 82.
Born in Fairmont, W.Va., she was a daughter of Rebecca Jacqueline Ridgely and Percy Byron Henry.

Born in Fairmont, W.Va., she was a daughter of Rebecca Jacqueline Ridgely and Percy Byron Henry.
She was a graduate of Wheeling University, Rice University and Carnegie-Mellon University. After serving for 13 years as president of Russell Sage College (N.Y.), in 2008 she and her husband Ed retired to their home in Garrett County, where she became interim president of Garrett College during 2009-10 and later chair of its Foundation Board. During her tenure, design work was completed and funding was secured for the Garrett College Aquatic and Recreational Complex (CARC).
In 2010, she received the Garrett College Board of Trustees Award for Outstanding Community Contribution and a scholarship fund for returning women students was established in her name. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Williams Stephens Neff II; son, Brian Kammer (Meltem Alemdar); stepdaughter, Carrie Mitchell (William); stepson, Edward W.S. Neff III (Tina); stepbrother, Thomas Llewellyn (Sally) and family; nephews, Scott Holly (Sandi) and Matt Holly (Steven Rowe); and "grands" Rachel and Wes Mitchell and Will Neff.
She was predeceased by her sister Rebecca Sue Henry Holly Meyer (Charles).
A celebration of Jeanne's life will be announced shortly and will appear on Jeanne's memorial page at www.TheGroffs.com.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to the Jeanne H. Neff Scholarship Fund, c/o Garrett College Foundation, 687 Mosser Road, McHenry, MD 21541 or to the Edward W.S. and Jeanne H. Neff Endowment Fund supporting operations of the Memory Center of Willow Valley.
